Wouldn't you know that one of the best games going now is an elaborate treasure hunt involving you and your GPS. One of Outside Supply's customers is an avid Geocacher. She wanted a power inverter to run her laptop when she went off with freinds in search of hidden treasure (Usually a metal box with trinkets and a place to sign). This laptop would allow her and her friends to find new locations to search and also help with satellite map views.

Since her main goal was running a laptop on these Geocaching adventures, I recommended the Go Power 150 Pure Sine Wave inverter and the Go Power 300 Watt Pure sine wave inverter, Both inverters are great, One main difference is the type of connection available. One has a cigarette lighter plug and the other has a hard wire setup. Since she is always in her car she opted for the hard wire model because it offered more power and was only a few dollars more.

A local notary public came to Outside Supply to help with a problem he was having with trying to power his HP 4250 DTNSL in his car. He is a mobile notary that does loan closings. Many times errors are found in the docs and he needs to reprint the docs. He has specialized docs that need laser printing. His loan docs also require duplex, collation, and stapling. This is is all handled by his HP printer, but the inverters he bought couldn't power it up. He had been through about 6 inverters and 4 stores. None of the inverters worked and he was not able to get any help from the stores he was shopping. Their only suggestion was to get a bigger inverter. The last inverter they sold him was some off brand 5000 watt model that actually burned up with in 15 minutes of use. By use he was clear to mention it never ran his printer.

This all changed when he came to Outside Supply. We were able to partner him with the 1500 watt true sine wave inverter from Go Power. The first time he plugged the printer in, it ran perfectly. He was so pleased with the setup, he purchased a second inverter to supply his partner with.

A customer asked a question about powering a few devices in there car using a 12v power inverter. Most of the devices like camera charger and camera charger would have been great on a modified sine 12v power inverter. Then they added a laptop to the list of devices and my recommendation for 12v power inverter changed.

At this point I recommended a true Sine Wave 12v Power Inverter.

This is because laptops are sensitive electronics and modifed sine inverters do not produce high quality electricity. If you are running your really exspensive laptop on a cheap modified sine inverter stop and watch our true sine wave 12v power inverter video below.

Power Inverter allows Printing on the GO!

We do a lot of printing here at Outside Supply.
So it is no surprise that we print in our vehicles. In fact we have several setups that allow different kinds of printing. In my wife's car I needed and easier solution with no cables. So I decided on a wireless inkjet printer. I used the Go Power 300 Watt Sine Wave Power Inverter to provide the clean stable power need for the printer. I used an old breakfast tray for the printing caddy. This caddy allowed for storage for labels, packing slips, and envelopes.

Wireless printing in my car was my goal. I wanted to avoid, if possible, from running a wireless router since it would require more power and more wires. I found this Great HP inkject printer with 802.11G built into the printer. I set up an Ad Hoc network and can now print using my wireless card.
