Can I run a Laser Printer on an inverter?

can-I-runa-a-laser-printer-on-a-power-inverter.gifThis OutsideSupply.com customer wanted a mobile office in the back of his work van. He wanted to print forms on his laser printer for his locksmith business. He had a power inverter but it would not run the laser printer. I advised him that some laser printers require True Sine Wave power to operate properly.

Since he was already hooked up a 2500 Watt Inverter for his locksmith devices like grinder, key cutter, and soldering iron. We decided to go with a smaller sine wave inverter for his computer and laser printer. This way he didn't need the much larger sine wave power inverter and could continue using his existing modified sine inverter for the other devices.

We went with the following inverter for his Mobile Locksmith Van:

    1000 Watt Sine Wave Inverter

He called me back and advised, he had already paid for the inverter in only 2 days of extra service calls. You see he was having to go into office to print invoices for at least 1 to 2 hours per afternoon. Now he does it on site, after he finishes the job. More time = More Calls = More $$Money

This is just one example of how a customer benefited by installing a power inverter in his work vehicle to provide clean reliable on site power.
