How does a 12 volt inverter work?
Well it it really is a matter of basic electricity. You see most 12 volt applications are 12 volt DC or direct current. An inverter or at least a 12 volt DC to AC power inverter will turn the 12 Volts of DC power to 110 to 120 volts of AC or alternating Current Power.
This is a video on basic power inverter information. This video has information on the hows and whys of power inverter use. It features a Go Power 1500 Watt Sine Wave Power Inverter. It also has information on the Inverter Install kit required to properly install a hardwired power inverter.
We carry a range of 12 volt DC to 110 Volt AC Power Inverters.
We have a full range of these inverters from 150 watts to 5000 Watts. This is quite a selection of power inverters. We also carry install kits to handle all of these power inverters.
Always follow the manufacturers guidelines for proper installation and fusing of power inverters.
Outside Supply carries many of the fuses and cables required to properly install power inverters.
Always fuse your power inverter according to manufacturer instructions. By fusing according to installation instructions, you are taking the advice offered by the engineers who designed the product. That is why I also suggest following the Manufacturer installation instructions.
I had an interesting conversation with one of Outside Supply's power inverter vendors regarding charging power tools on modified sine wave power inverters. You can actually significantly impact the life expectancy of your power tools battery by charging on a modified sine wave power inverter.
We suggest getting a large modified sine wave inverter for those heavy duty jobs that don't require Pure Sine Wave.

Power Inverters
Power inverters are great devices that can really make a lot of applications easy and quiet for the RVer. A lot of time when an Rver wants to run his or her microwave when drycamping, they need to power up their generator. This is both noisy and requires fuel. Once an RVer installs a power inverter in their unit, they can just go ahead and run that microwave off their RV's batteries. Outside Supply carries a full line of power inverters and accessories to get the job done right with strong reliable equipment.
A power inverter is a device that converters DC power to AC power, or in simple terms, Battery Power to Household Electricity. A good clean power inverter will allow you to run a variety of electronics ranging from laptops, TVs, Microwaves, Coffee Pots and more off your batteries.
